# Choosing between 1-camera and 2-camera capture

> When to use 1 camera vs. 2 cameras

Uplift Capture now supports capturing some movements using either our traditional 2-camera setup, or a single camera. Choosing which one to use depends on your situation and environment.

    * Speed of setup is the priority
    * Space is tight, and you only have enough room for one camera set up at the required distance
    * You only have one device available

    One camera capture is best when tracking general movement mechanics and identifying strengths and focus areas. It's great for more frequent assessments and general movement insights.

    * Higher-precision kinematic metrics are the priority
    * You need a full movement breakdown with detailed data
    * You have the space and devices required to set up 2 cameras at the recommended positions

    Two camera capture is best when you need more precise metric reporting and when prioritizing data reliability, especially in rotational movements.
